The standard mechanical cable counter provides information about deployed cable length. This measurement supports cable management and layback estimation, but it is not a direct measurement of the towfish position. Towfish depth and horizontal offset also depend on cable geometry, vessel speed, current and the towing configuration. These factors should be considered together when integrating cable-out information with survey navigation.
Kordil KD300 uses a 1.5 kW drive and a 220 V, 50 Hz power supply. The published cable capacity is 330 m for 12 mm cable, with a stated maximum of 380 m, and the winding-speed range is 0.2–1 m/s. A Kordil OEM slip ring and mechanical counter form part of the documented assembly. Digital counting, Bluetooth communication, touchscreen cable programming and armoured-cable arrangements are configuration-dependent options.
The winch is intended for marine mapping, investigation and towed-sensor operations where orderly cable handling is important. Select the cable and termination arrangement to match the sensor and survey configuration, and confirm the required drum capacity before mobilisation. The listed empty weight is 105 kg. Published pulling capacity should be interpreted as a winch specification; it should not be presented as a certified lifting rating.
